What is a Physical Golf Assessment by Titleist ?
The Level one Titleist Assessment is a physical Mobility and Stability screening that will pinpoint anything that could be robbing you of consistency, distance, accuracy or even causing you pain or dissatisfaction with your game.
How will it help me?
After your assessment, Titleist will provide you with a print out of the assessment results and there implications (Valuable information for you or your golf instructor).
You will have access to the Titleist Performance Institute website that will not only have your personalized fitness program (with video instruction for your computer or I-pod available), but also a wealth of helpful golf related information, instruction and tips.

What does the assessment include?
We evaluate all of these critical physical aspects of your swing with both a video analysis, and manual evaluation.
- The Pelvic Tilt: This will measure your overall mobility of the hips, the lumbar spine and their ability to control the position of the pelvic posture during set-up. (Common cause of low back pain).
- Pelvic Rotation: this will measure your ability to rotate the upper body independently from the lower body (Necessary for sequencing in the downswing).
- Torso Rotation: Will measure your ability to rotate the upper body independently from the lower body (Necessary for sequencing the swing and generating good separation, coil and power).
- Overhead Deep Squat: Will measure all the major joints in an effective swing from the ground up. Ankles, calf's, knees, hips, low back, thoracic spine, lats, and shoulder mobility and stability will all be challenged.
- Toe Touch: Will measure your overall mobility in the lower back and hamstrings, plus it can help identify a hip problem versus a lower back of core limitation.
- Shoulder Rotation: Will measure your range of external rotation in the shoulder and your ability to maintain scapular stability in a golf posture.
- Single Leg Balance: Will highlight any proprioceptive imbalance from left to right, as well as overall stability in the core (Greatly effecting weight transfer and holding your follow through).
- Latissimus Length: Will measure your flexibility of the latissimus dorsi muscle group, shoulder joint restrictions and scapular motion limitations (Often the cause of loss of posture during your swing).
- Lower Quarter Rotation: Will measure your internal and external mobility of each hip (Necessary for coiling and loading during the backswing and posting into and rotating around the hips during the downswing).
- Seated trunk Rotation: Will measure how much rotational mobility is present in the thoraco-lumbar spine (Important to help generate speed and maintain a stable posture during your swing).
- Bridge w/Leg extension: Will highlight the stability in the pelvis/lumbar spine/core, especially the gluteal muscles (Stable active glutes are essential in generating power from the ground up).
